Even though someone in T-Mobile‘s media relations department is banging their head against a desk, we’re really glad to see all the leak love this morning. First, we got a sneak peek at some internal documents promising a July launch for both the LG Thrill 4G and the HTC Status on AT&T. Now we’re learning that the myTouch 4G Slide should hit shelves July 27, creating a hat trick of launch leaks.
When we first heard of the myTouch 4G Slide, we wondered why T-Mobile would fill its stores with similarly specked sliders. First we have the G2, which runs Android 2.2 Froyo and sports a 5-megapixel shooter. Right behind it, we have the Sidekick 4G, also running Android 2.2 Froyo and enjoying the benefit of that Sidekick branding. And landing softly between the two is none other than the myTouch 4G Slide. From what we’ve gathered, this T-Mo slider doesn’t have better specs than these other sliders, but it does have a trick up its sleeve.
T-Mobile claims that the myTouch 4G Slide has the “most advanced camera of any smartphone.” Apparently, the 8-megapixel shooter has special software enhancements that keep the shutter button snappy and the picture-taker happy. Less lyrically, the camera app comes loaded with a host of different features that enhance low-light shots, take wide-angle pictures, take multiple pictures at once, along with some other cool effects.
