Sprint has officially announced two new enterprise oriented Android smartphones from Motorola in the iDEN-based Titanium and the dual-mode CDMA/GSM XPRT.
The Motorola Titanium is the successor to the i1 and features Android 2.1, clair, QWERTY keyboard and 3.1-inch capacitive touchscreen display. 810G bodyshell certification for dust, shock, vibration, low pressure, solar radiation, high temperature and low temperature. Additionally, full support for Nextel Direct Connect Services, including Direct Connect, Group Connect, International Direct Connect, DirectSend, Group Messaging and NextMail, full Android Market access, full Google services, corporate email via Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync) and personal email, 5.0 megapixel camera with camcorder, 4x zoom and flash, Wi-Fi b/g radio, Bluetooth, GPS support with A-GPS and dedicated transceiver as well as a microSD slot. Pricing and availability for the Titanium will be announced later this year.
The Motorola XPRT features Android 2.2, Froyo, pinch-to-zoom enabled 3.1-inch HVGA display, full QWERTY keyboard and 1GHz processor with Adobe Flash 10 support.
Enterprise features include 256-bit AES data encryption and remote admin controls such as enabling pin or password lock, password recovery and data wipe on both the phone and SD card if lost or stolen while also offering the MOTOBLUR overlay. Additional key features include Market access, Google services, Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync for corporate email and personal email, Mobile Hotspot supporting up to five Wi-Fi devices, 5.0 megapixel camera with camcorder and dual LED flash, microSD slot, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and GPS support. The XPRT will be released on June 5th for $129.99 after new two year agreement.
