Verizon Confirms Tiered Data Plans for This Summer

Speaking to Reuters, Verizon Wireless CFO Fran Shammo has confirmed that the carrier will debut a series of tiered data plans later this summer which will signal the elimination of unlimited data access across all phones and devices on the carrier, as well as the possible introduction of shared data plans similar to family plans where multiple lines and devices share data access from the same monthly pool. In the same interview, Shammo also confirmed that the 5th version of the iPhone will have a simultaneous launch on both AT&T and Verizon, following the 6 month gap in releasing the Verizon iPhone 4 from the launch of the AT&T version last Summer.
