Re-Tales: Deal makers (25/04/11)

A round-up of deals available from mobile retailers online and on the high street

PHONES 4U
It’s cashback time on BlackBerry smartphones at Phones 4U. The Curve 9300 is being offered on T-Mobile with 250 by redemption and comes with 600 minutes and 500 texts for 30.64 a month. The Curve 8520 and 9300 are being offered on Vodafone with 175 cash-back by redemption. They come with 500 minutes and unlimited texts. Separately, the HTC Desire HD is available for 25 a month on a Vodafone deal offering 300 minutes, unlimited texts and 500MB of data.

CARPHONE
The retailer is heavily pushing the new unlimited internet service for its Talkmobile MVNO. The 24-month tariffs range from 12-30 a month and include a free smartphone and unlimited data. The cheapest plan comes with 200 minutes and 200 texts, along with a choice of one of eight smartphones, including the HTC Wildfi re, Samsung Galaxy Mini and Sony Ericsson Xperia X8. Meanwhile, 70 has now been knocked off the prepay price of the Mini, as it now costs 129.95.

ORANGE
There’s a sale on prepay phones at Orange this month, with 50 per cent off a selection, such as the Alcatel OT-606 in black (now 14.99), Orange Lisbon (now 9.99), Samsung E1170 (now 6.49) and Alcatel OT-222 (now 4.99). Orange also gives a mention to the upcoming Motorola Atrix, saying it’s “coming soon”.

THREE
The Samsung Galaxy S is available for free on Three’s ‘The One Plan’ for 30 a month and comes with 2,000 minutes, 5,000 texts, 5,000 Three-to-Three minutes and unlimited data. The HTC Wildfire is available for 10 less a month on the Text 500 plan and comes with 500 minutes, 500 texts and 1GB of data.

GO MOBILE
As part of the retailer becoming the title sponsor of two Chevrolet Cruzes competing in the British Touring Car Championship this season, any customer taking out a new connection or upgrading before the end of the season on October 16 will be entered into a prize draw to win a replica of the car.

VODAFONE
The Nokia N8 and Samsung Galaxy S are both available for free on 30 a month deals that come with 600 minutes, unlimited texts and 500MB of data. However, those opting for the N8 deal will also receive a Love2Shop voucher to the value of 25. Elsewhere, the HTC Wildfire can now be bought for 130 on prepay.

O2
The BlackBerry Torch is available for 27 a month with 300 minutes, unlimited texts and 500MB of data. O2 claims this discount saves the customer 99.99 over the course of the contract. The HTC Desire S is available on the same deal. The recently released Samsung Galaxy Ace is available for 10.50 a month and comes with 50 minutes and 250 texts, as well as the Take That documentary Look Back, Don’t Stare on DVD.
