Avenir Telecom accessories sales director Stuart Balaam has left the distributor after two years following a restructure which saw his position made redundant
Avenir Telecom accessories sales director Stuart Balaam has left the business after an internal company restructure saw his his position become redundant. The accessory team will now report to Avenir UK sales director John Pett.
Avenir Telecom managing director Andy Tow said the internal restructure will help the company achieve “significant” growth.
Balaam, who joined Avenir in July 2007, has now set up a new company called Xccessory Ltd based in Reading. The company, which was incorporated April 24, will specialise in developing mobile and laptop accessory brand awareness across Europe.
Balaam was appointed by Avenir as part of the distributors plans to build relationships with UK retailers for its exclusive range of accessories. Its range currently includes Energizer, BeeWi, Pat says Now, Ozaki, iSkin, Speck, Moshi, Bling My Thing and Trexta.
Avenir currently has supply relationships with Orange, T-Mobile, O2, P4U and Carphone Warehouse. A number of major supermarket brands are understood to have agreed deals also.
Avenir Telecom managing director Andy Tow said: “In order to achieve significant growth in the accessories market this year we have reorganised our organisation and confirm this has led to the position of sales director – accessories being made redundant and accordingly Stuart Balaam has left the Company.
“The accessories sales team will now report to John Pett, UK Sales Director and this reorganisation will deliver many exciting new opportunities to be announced in the coming months.”
