Pre-orders for the new Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 have only just begun and already Gamestop is reporting that it is seeing a higher demand for the new game than it did for the record breaking launch of Call Of Duty: Black Ops.
Black Ops is the biggest selling game after over takingModern Warfare 2, launched only one year earlier. With Black Ops setting a new launch-day sales record when it sold $360 million in just first-day sales and over $1 billion in less than a month.
“Last year, Call of Duty: Black Ops became the most pre-ordered title in our history,”
“Already this year, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is significantly ahead of that pace. Our customers’ response to the reveal of Modern Warfare 3 has been amazing.”
said GameStop’s senior VP of marketing Bob McKenzie.
Even though the new Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 doesn’t arrive until November 8th 2011 it already sounds like its going to be a big hit.
