Altec Lansing has announced that there new Orbit Stereo USB are now shipping and are available to purchase in stores for around $50. Even though the speakers do look a little bulky for travelling they only weigh 12.8 ounces and snap together to create a one piece tube shape for easy storage.
The two speakers are connected via an audio cable and are then connected to your computer via a USB port, which provides both power and audio. The speakers use a generic USB audio system, so there’s no need to worry about extra sound drivers simply plug and play.
Another neat feature of the Altec Lansing Orbit Stereo speakers are their retractable stand which let you aim the sound in any direction to require, and at the base of each speaker is a small space to stow the cables during transit.
