Sony Ericsson XPERIA Arc with Reality Display gets Announced

Sony Ericsson has unveiled their new Android offering at CES, and I must say, it’s quite a beauty.

Sony Ericsson XPERIA Arc

The XPERIA arc runs on 1GHZ processor with Android 2.3 Gingerbread, and packs an 8.1-megapixel AF camera with Sony Exmor R photo enhancement technology and 720p HD video recording capabilities, HDMI-out, WiFi DLNA support, Bluetooth connectivity to complement its generously-sized 4.2-inch touchscreen. It can also give the newly announced LG Optimus Black a run for its money as far as the title of world’s thinnest smartphone is concerned since this XPERIA measures just a mere 8.7mm at its thinnest point.

Sony Ericsson is also introducing their latest innovation with this device – the Reality Display with Mobile BRAVIA engine. As their press release states, this new technology aims to provide an “exceptional visual brilliance and a crystal clear image which enhances the overall entertainment experience.” Don’t know how true this is, but it’s certainly got us intrigued.

No word yet if this will be available in Canada, but it is confirmed to be rolling out this first quarter to select markets.
