Virgin Media mobile boss Kini to take on new role at company

Jonathan Kini to move into newly created role within the customer and operations division at Virgin Media as it searches for his replacement

Virgin Media director of mobile Jonathan Kini is leaving his position next month to take on a new senior role within the customer and operations division at the company. Kini’s successor will be announced in due course.

Kini started in commercial finance at Virgin Mobile and moved into purchasing and supply chain before taking on all commercial relationships as commercial director. He then became director of mobile at Virgin Media following the merger between NTL, Telewest and Virgin Mobile and in that time has launched the company’s contract mobile service.

Virgin Media executive director of mobile and home phone Graeme Oxby said: “It has been an absolute pleasure to work with Jonathan and I wish him every success in his new role. His strong experience and passion will be invaluable for the company as we strive to become the most customer-focused company in our sector.”

“Kini said: “Virgin Media has a massive focus on developing its staff and nurturing talent, and I’m really excited to be able to take on this new challenge at a time when Virgin Media is looking to accelerate its growth.”
