Alltel Wireless today announced the launch of a new recycled phone program, which will refurbish and resell certified pre-owned wireless devices. In an effort to increase sustainability and reduce the amount of electronic waste that is disposed in landfills, Alltel Wireless is making a commitment to recycle and reuse wireless devices containing precious metals, copper and plastics.
All pre-owned devices will undergo a meticulous evaluation and inspection process to ensure the quality of the recycled products. New cosmetic and electronic parts that have been certified to meet Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) performance and functionality specifications are used to replace any faulty device components. Additionally, Alltel Wireless is encouraging customers to bring their old, unwanted phones into retail stores to be recycled.
