Nokia Receiving Monetary Aid from MSFT to Foster WP7 Adoption

The new fangled Nokia-Microsoft alliance has given the gossip hounds a lot of things to talk about and the latest discussion that interests us is that of the Finnish giant Nokia receiving billions of dollars from MSFT. MSFT is doing so to ensure that Nokia adopts its mobile OS Windows Phone 7 in a way that the tech giant can better compete with the likes of Apple in the smartphone arena.

Now this may be an ordinary piece of information for you but this gossip is being related to something else which is of some real interest. Just like the way Nokia is getting paid by MSFT, it is touted that Google also pays cellphone manufacturers in a similar manner to ensure that the choose the Android platform.

Now there are people who are questioning the ethics behind such practices, but Nokia Chief Executive Stephen Elop isn’t baffled by the queries. Elop was at the MWC and he mentioned that the monetary assistance is no big deal and it indeed goes to show what a valuable brand name Nokia is to other companies.
