Yes Telecom founder returns to industry to partner with eSay in order to launch new service aimed at “mobilising businesses”
Yes Telecom founder Keith Curran (pictured) has returned to the mobile industry after three years and is again creating a dealer channel for his new “revolutionary” product WorkMobile which launches this week.
Curran, who has effectively been out of the mobile industry since he sold Vodafone service provider Yes Telecom in 2006 for 22 million, has partnered with software and service developer eSay to launch a service which, he claims, allows companies of any size to mobilise their business by using a mobile to create, send and receive work documents.
Curran claims companies looking to mobilise their office face charges of between 20- 40,000, but that WorkMobile removes these fees, instead only charging a customer when a form is sent using the device, with charges ranging from 9p-18p on prepay. Multi-year deals are also available which reduce the costs further.
WorkMobile already has 500 companies globally using the service prior to the launch and is in discussion with BT about using the service internally.
Curran, who built a 1,000 plus dealer channel with Yes Telecom, is offering “partners” a 40 per cent revenue share on all transaction for the life time of the customer sending forms through WorkMobile. The product will also be available as a white label service and Curran is open to discussion with network operators to break in to corporate channels.
Curran said he would adopt the same ethos as Yes Telecom during his time and be “open” and “transparent” with partners.
