Broadcom has announced its latest mobile chipset for smartphones in the BCM4330 chipset which includes support for Bluetooth 4.0+HS, support for 802.11a/b/g/n Wi-Fi, FM radio tuner, and Bluetooth Low Energy, which is meant for small devices that have embedded sensors. The chip also supports Wi-Fi Direct for filesharing between devices without the need for an access point. The chipset is currently in production with multiple manufacturers announcing products with the chipset built-in this week at Mobile World Congress.
